An International Rail Station

St Pancras

Hunting around for a place to have a cup, I ended up in London's Saint Pancras station, the UK's only international railway terminal... at the moment. Well, not really, there are a couple more along the route to the Channel Tunnel. When, and if, Britain's exit from the European Union happens, who knows what is on the cards, international train station wise. I quite enjoy strolling through the terminal and seeing the arrivals board, with trains from 'exotic' cities. 'Course, being the UK the trains are still running late. Wouldn't be British, would it! Dotted around the station are pianos and the two I saw were both being tickled by people who could actually play. A nice change from the enthusiastic, but untalented, six year old you normally find. They have already banned performances of Shakespeare on the escalators, along with pushchairs and heavy luggage. I think I shall miss the Bard most of all as I rise to the champagne bar, before sampling the bright lights of Paris

What a shame they had banned the Shakespeare. Oh I too used to love the train stations Ron. Always so much going on. I was always running here and there in the days.

I prefer trains for travel. I can read my book as we roll along and enjoy a cup of tea to boot

I'd quite like to see Shakespeare on the train station. Sometimes the delays are long enough for a full production of All's Well That Ends Well.

Sure it would be more entertaining than Shakespeare in the Park!

I've only had short one day excursions by train, but I enjoyed myself.

I like traveling by train. Someone else worries about the driving!

Now I feel as if I miss it. Even though, I have never been to Paris. Live Shakespeare open theatre would be awesome. We need more culture, not less.

I've seen some YouTube clips of some very talented performers on 'street' or 'station' pianos. It would be a great bonus to hear one playing.
