Had an interesting day of contrasts yesterday.

I spend yesterday morning at a birthday party for a child I worked with in Berkeley over a two year period. I hadn't seen her in several months and was glad to receive a big hug when she saw me. She quickly explained that she wasn't really five yet, but that they were leaving town and wouldn't be home for her "actual" birthday.
I got to play with several familiar kids and talk to several familiar parents. It was a good time.
Later in the afternoon, I went to see Scott, the fella I've been having some issues with, playing solo at the Clayton Club, the same bar where we often play as a 4-piece rock band. He invited me up for a few tunes, and things went well.
Another friend of mine showed up, and we wound up "doing shots" with Scott and a couple of friends of his who had showed up.
So I went from being kind-hearted birthday cake-eating preschool teacher to shot-swilling musician and bar fly in the course of a few hours.
I suppose balance is good. How was your Sunday?

That's an interesting weekend. I had an unplanned out of town trip that turned out well and fulfilling.

That sounds nice, I especially like the way you interacted with the kids. I also like to talk and play with the little ones. My first grandchild is six months old and to adorable! It warms my heart when she laughs and give me a big smile!
