Golden Privet

Always look forward to the Golden Privet blooming in the yard. The bees and hummingbirds really like the blooms. I love the smell. I picked a few blooms to bring inside. Now the house smells like the bloom. So fragrant. Sort of like the honeysuckle but sweeter. Have you heard of this bush before? It starts out with all green shiny leaves first. Then the blooms appear. Next will be the birds and the bees.... and the flowers and the trees. No, kidding, got started on a song. ha! But seriously, the birds and bees will flock to the bush soon. Sharing a photo I snapped earlier while out walking around. The weather has been nice today. ©CarolDM2019

@CarolDM I love the smell too but have to be cautious around bees, I’m allergic!

When it blooms they are whiter than usual but you can usually still see the leaves. They will turn more yellow later.
