Do you apply lotion on your skin?

I actually don’t put on lotion because it feels so sticky on my skin. But just recently, my dog Tags, the furry spitz, scratched me and it gave a short line of scar. I want to remove it as it is very obvious on my skin.
So i embrocate lotion on my foot before i go to bed.
Do you also put lotion on your skin?

I use a very light one during winters when my skin gets dry. I don't need them in summer.

@Janet357 It makes it more sticky and messy. Also sweat is enough to keep the skin moisturized.

Oh dang now I feel weird since everyone else is saying no. Yes I use lotion just about every day it is suppose to keep your skin hydrated and keeping it looking young. Not really sure it works like that but it does keep me from feeling dry and itchy.

@andriaperry Oh very nice, are they smelly kind? I don't like smelling like fruits so I go with a non scented one.

I put lotion on maybe once or twice a week. I use a soap that has the loofah built in, so I remove my dry skin that way. The lotion I use is mostly for the scent.

@Janet357 I am not sure about that, I know it can irritate the skin. I've never heard that it can darken it, and it has never done that to me.

it helps to find a lotion that isn't sticky or oily, you have to find a happy medium. I don't use it very often but when I do, I mostly put it on my elbows because they get dry. sometimes I'll use lotion on my legs and arms when I get out of the pool because the water dries my skin out. and every once in a while I'll put lotion on my face and feet before I go to bed so they can moisturize through the night

@isweartokira i see. The last time i plunged into the pool was in 2016. I dont usually swim in it because of urine, chlorine and it doesnt flow.

@Janet357 no, not too long. chlorine water dries out your skin and hair so it's bond to happen no matter how long you're in

I read the other day face and/or body cream is better for your skin than lotion. I do use night moisturizer on my face every single evening. It helps keep your face firm. And it's so important to keep your skin hydrated. It's especially good to put lotion or oil on your body right after you shower.
If you want to minimize the look of a scar, try BioOil. It is usually found with the lotions
