Philippines
May 29, 2019 1:52pm CST
I'm having a stressed. I'm a guardian of my niece who where 10 years old and the school asked me to get her birth certificate. But the problem, the clinic where she born doesn't have any record of her, then to municipal hall she doesn't have record either.I filed late registered yet they does not want me to filed because I am not or don't have a letter to her mother my sister that I am guardian of my niece. On other hand my sister, neglect her daughter to my mom, financially my mother can't afford for her schooling so I volunteer to take care my niece but now I don't know what to do... My sister negligence, I who suffered and the child. I don't want her to put on a social worker because I love my niece.

Welcome kabayan. It is really an issue. You really need to have a special power of attorney to be able to file those. Or maybe you can just adopt your niece.

@iAmCris23 first, you murder my name kabayan! its rakski -- not ratski .... you can ask her for an spa and a will maybe indicating she is entrusting your niece to you. It will be a difficult ordeal but it is for the kid.

Thank you kabayan @ratski! Yes they say the other solution is to adopt her. But I will try to have special attorney for this is not easy case, specially my sister doesn't want to cooperate and she abandoned them to our parents.

They can't put her on a social worker if there is someone to take care of her.. How about your family try to get some financial help to ease the burden?

Try to talk to your sister to get your nephew´s birth certificate. I know it won´t be easy, but it´s not impossible, try to talk to your sister for your nephews sake.

This seems to be problematic and stressful to you. There must be other way to apply for her birth certificate. If you are sound financially. I think its' better not to put her with Social worker

Hi, can you tell your sister to write you a letter that you are the guardian of her daughter, I hope things go well both for you and your niece.

She did but because of lack of knowledge how to write a letter, it's a long story why to cut things out she is uneducated person and doesn't want to educate, she is so stubborn and full of pride.

@iAmCris23 It is a pity, can she go to a lawyer and let him/her write it for her, like that it would be more official. Hope you can have the custody of your niece.
