Loud, Screaming Guitars from a Car Means You're Old!

From the Babyboomers to GenX, from Rock & Roll to Rap and Alternative, loud music pouring from cars usually meant the occupants were young dudes and dudettes. Quiet cars with mellow tunes didn't necessarily scream "I'm old!" but loud and rowdy said, "I'm not!" But over the last decade or two there has been a quiet changing of the guard. The Millennial and "Zs" have become the quiet riders but us older folks have resisted turning down the volume. If there are instruments at all in these generations' play list they are often acoustic. If there's an electric guitar in the band, it's mostly just for texture. I thought about this in my pickup, Eric Johnson blasting out Cliffs of Dover on my CD player, knowing for a fact it was announcing to the world... I'm getting old. lol
