Cats as healers

In a recent conversation with @xander6464 - we were discussing how cats seem to "know" things and how sometimes cats seem to act as healers. And sure enough - I found this uplifting, cute story. An elderly man, recovering from surgery at home takes a nap. His wife goes out and leaves the door ajar - only to be woken up cuddling with a cat. The catch? They couple do not have a cat. A stray must have known that the man needed some comfort. In the most adorable way, they are even "holding hand/paw" in the photo taken before they woke the man up. So best wishes to the man in his recovering and I really do hope that they now I have a cat or cats :-) Link:
Animals may not be able to speak our language, but they always seem to be able to sense when something is wrong with us. Now, a story is going viral that reminds all of us that animals can tell when humans are going through something. An elderly man from N

That’s a beautiful story. Cats do know when something is wrong and not just with humans. Doodles alerted us to the fact that his sister had terminal cancer by suddenly sleeping with her.

@FayeHazel It’s beautiful. Animals sense things we can’t. They are so much smarter than people give them credit for.

Is, isn't it? I love how the man is holding hand and paw with cat. Wow. How did he know? That is sad though

I heard about this story--and it is heart-warming! Do you know that people who have pets tend to live longer and happier lives?? I think it is just that I have to get out and walk my dog several times a day---but he is a sweetie, so I don't mind!

@FayeHazel I do! I know that dogs can smell disease in a human long before a diagnosis is given

Now that is one of the sweetest stories I have heard for a long time. Yes I do believe animals are natural healers.

I am sure moggies know and are quite attuned to humans. Fairly sure I've read that cats help lower blood pressure and increase general well being of us two legs

@FayeHazel Yes, spot on. If I remember right it is from the Elizabethan maggi, which referred a scruff. Cats have always struck me as rather tidy!

What a lovely story and I really believe animals are much more intuitive than most people give them credit for.
