This story is about four women who as neighbours, became friends. Each are in various stages of their lives, in their marriages, and each in their own way are able to help one another. I found the story touching and as a middle aged woman I could relate to this story somewhat. I could see a little bit of myself in each of these women. This story is a strong representation of women, men, families, LIFE in today's world. Gerrie can't decide what's more devastating: learning her rock-solid marriage has big cracks, or the anger she feels as she tries to repair them. Andy doesn't have a great track record with men and she's come to believe that a lasting love is out of reach. But she finds love in the most unexpected of places. Sonja's lifelong pursuit of balance is shattered when her husband declares he is through with her New Age nonsense and walks out. Will she find serenity and sanity again? BJ is the newcomer of the group who keeps to herself. She has deep secrets but eventually opens up to her neighbours. All four friends work together to get each other back on track, stronger as individuals and unfaltering as friends. This is the first time I have read a Robyn Carr book and feel she is a great storyteller. I won this book (from I don't know where because it just showed up in my mailbox - I think writerspace.com) and am looking forward to reading more of her books. I believe she is considered a contemporary romance writer, but her stories go into a little more depth than that. This story, in particular, is about life, love, family, careers, quirkiness, but mostly the ways in which women choose to survive in their own life situations. Robyn Carr listed some questions for discussion at the end of the book. These questions gave me more to ponder about each woman's situation with their families, marriages, careers and how the reader would handle each situation if it happened to them. A good, strong story. I highly recommend it. 4 out of 5 stars

@patgalca Thank you for sharing that with us. It sounds very sad but it is do nice they became friends and helped each other out and the one that did not feel comfortable at first felt comfortable enough later on to trust them with her secrets. It sounds like a nice group of friends to have. Nice that you saw a little bit of yourself in each one of them. That helps in relating to them more.

I think I have read one of her books before, but not this one. It sounds like a good book.

I just looked at the copyright. Because I just won it I thought it was a newer read. It was actually published in 2014.
