I'm sorry but I'm tired....

I feel bad as I try hard to keep up to date with notifications but due to having major struggles sleeping lately, I'm too tired for MyLot right now. I know I probably shouldn't but sometimes I worry that people will think I'm not one to get back to others. Even though, besides my most recent posts that I have yet to answer, I haven't missed a single notification. I pride myself on always getting back to people ( or giving a Like if nothing else is left to say ) but due to the stress of my Nan now being sick, Pop isn't exactly doing well either, my not contacting my Aunty, brother not looking after his health, my dad still mending with his toe / foot and my own personal stresses and worries, I'm just too tired. I don't feel like talking right now. It's 4:15am. My sleep or lack of sleep has been so out of control lately. I often go through these phases but doesn't mean I'm comfortable with it being this way. "Try harder to sleep" is a comment I can't take anymore as it's not like I'm deliberately trying to wear myself out. I try and I try and I try. But for some reason I struggle to fall asleep. I don't understand how laying in bed tossing and turning for hours isn't me trying to sleep. I don't know what else people expect me to do to "try harder." The cliche techniques don't always work for me and I've tried a lot of them so again, how can I try harder than I already have? It's almost like people who sleep easy expect me to do the same. Not all are able to fall asleep as soon as their heads hit the pillow. So I'm sorry but I don't feel like MyLotting tonight (technically this morning) but I do promise that I will catch up on my notifications as soon as possible. Have a great day / great night. Will see you all later.

We all get tired and the notifications will be right where you left them! Get some rest.

I'm sorry to hear that, maybe that's the reason why I haven't see you in myLot, hoping she will get better, I'll be waiting for you Dani! Have enough rest and we'll have another battle

@tech40 Thank you kindly! She has a doctor's appointment on the 17th I think. So hoping to have more insight of what happened. Another battle haha Love it! I'm sort of ready to battle now. I have so much to do so feeling a bit overwhelmed at the moment but trying hard to catch up on my notifications.

@tech40 Thank you so much. That's alright. I think it's better to feel "I will do it when I'm ready" rather than "aw no I have to do that."

Take it easy - trim your myLot notifications in the Settings, it helps keep the hassle down

@pgntwo I've trimmed it down as low as possible when I came back onto here ( I had another account years before this one ) I only kept the notifications I need to keep them down. Thank you kindly for the suggestion but yeah, already did that.

This may sound simplistic, and maybe it is, but when I was younger and had trouble falling asleep, my grandmother would say to me, "Stop trying to fall asleep, and instead concentrate on staying awake." And so I did. And I found that I would usually doze off not too long afterward. We used to joke that she was using reverse psychology on me, but in truth what she was doing was taking my mind off of sleep, and instead focusing it on something different. I know sleep has been a struggle for you for a long time. You have mentioned before how much your mind wanders are overthinks and worries and all that. I'm hoping you can find a solution that works for you to help you get some sleep. Maybe you just need to approach the issue from a different angle. I'm not an expert, so I don't know if what I wrote above would work, but maybe it's worth a try? If it doesn't work, well then you can cross that strategy off the list. I always think about you and worry about you and hope you are doing alright. It's so much harder with us being so far away. If I was closer, I would be right there by your side trying whatever I could to help you find sleep!

@VivaLaDani13 Hi Dani! Yes, I've been sleeping much better lately. I've adjusted my workout schedule so I'm not exercising so late at night now. I've been working out early in the morning, and it's really helped my overall feeling/energy levels throughout the day, including sleeping at night. How have you been? Are you still take the childcare course?

@moffittjc That is cute. Although I believe that is a great technique, it's actually not worked for me personally. I have done this a great many of times but still unfortunately not the best trick for me. Funny enough I tried it again some time last week. ( I keep trying the same techniques just in case ). Just didn't work again. Thank you so very much Jeff for the suggestion as well as your supportive words. Always much appreciated.

Don't worry. I am also very tired. You will be here when you will feel better. If we don't have energy to interact it's best to take a break.

Do not stress Dani, it does not matter if you have no time for notifications now. Sleep and rest well, this is more important.

@amadeo I'm sure a huge majority don't care about it at all and technically I shouldn't care if they did as MyLot is my time. But I do know of one who gets cranky if you don't get back to him. He calls them "lazy" especially if no one goes to his posts so...I worry if others may think that. Hope you had / have a great day!
