Short Story: Alan dreams truth into life for himself, in himself, from his dream

Alan had dreamed that he walked to a hotel where he was staying, at number four Kent street in the city. Alan got the lift up to the 10th floor. He walked along the corridor, coming to his Hotel room. Alan entered the pin number to enter the room into the data-pad on the door. It was 4169. Alan entered the room, and he sat down on a large brown armchair. Then seeing a radio over on the sideboard, Alan went over, and he switched it on. A song started to play, with these words: Life lives in death until death lives in life. Life is greater than death, until death is greater than life. Emptiness is not free in me, until I am free in emptiness. Emptiness is not free until it's free in me. I am emptiness, when I am free in emptiness. Oneness is not oneness, until I am a part of it. Alan switched the radio off, then he sat down, and he thought about what he had just heard. “Well”, he thought to himself, “Love lives in us being its true self, but this true self is not being true in us, when we are not being truly loving in love.” “This is because we only see love in us, rather than us being that love in us.” “When l am nothing, l am one with all. But, when l am something, l am still one with all. I can never not be one with all. Love is always all it is in me. I need to be all that I can be in it.” “If I think l am not one with all, l delude myself in my something now.” “Yes, separation is an illusion, but it's all l know, until I really know.” “This is because when we empty ourselves of ourselves, becoming nothing of ourselves, we can then be filled with God, and become everything in him.” Alan’s dream of living somewhere in a Hotel, rather than in his usual house, show him that life’s comfortability, or your living in your own comfort zone, is not as important as truth-seeking. Truth stretches you to be your real self, and extends you to all you can be. The radio song is showing him truth, which is always available to one, despite their location. Truth always comes to us unbidden, like this, and we should accept its coming.
