Unusual coat-hangers

While in Nevers, France, we attended some markets. There were the usual displays although of course they differed somewhat because we were in a different country. I bought a couple of French books for my daughter-in-law and we bought some pork pies for lunch. I’m sure there were some bargains among the antiques but I found these hangers a bit off-putting. They are made from the forefeet of animals – deer and pigs I think. I wasn’t tempted to buy them and I doubt our customs would allow them into the country. I have seen them in other shops and markets too so they can’t be particularly unusual in France. Would you want your coat hanging on one of these?

They are unusual but I don't think I would like to have them. Maybe a gift for someone with a hunting cabin.

The 2 on the end that are just made from wood alone aren't too bad, but the others are in poor taste in my opinion. Very tacky looking, but to each their own.

@amadeo They wouldn't look so out of place in a hunting cabin.

I would not. The uniqueness of the craft is not for my liking.

No, and I hope they didn't kill the animals just to use them for coat hangers!

@judyev I have a friend (recently demoted to the rank of casual acquaintance) who has a row of coat pegs all sculpted to resemble the excited bits of her male companions. No way would I ever hang my coat on that.

@JudyEv Ah, I always wondered what that was for, but how very disrespectful of the poor kangaroo.

@xFiacre There are some incredibly tacky souvenirs out there. Like aprons with David's headless sculpture on the front.

Haha. That's pretty funny though. In some of our tourist shops you can buy a coin purse made from a kangaroo's scrotum. That's pretty gross too.

@JudyEv I would not like to have anything of such a kind, while we have artificial and other material that could make hangers then why would it be necessary . If it is just a design still my thoughts would be very unwelcoming for such items as it would look so inauspicious ....

Like others said here, I too would not go for it. It is better to have a steel hanger instead of this.
