I wish I knew the mantra. Some of my general discussions have got good number of responses while the ones I thought would be interesting got only a few. I agree with Maluse. Posts on food and disease do get attention.

Yes, the topics which are very light in the nature are tend to get more responses...The serious ones are not normally responded by many people!

There is no apt topic here to get much responses. Sometimes a simple topic will get lot of responses. It also depends on the user, if he/she is familiar and participating everywhere then may get lot of responses.

Take care of your health. A good rest is mostly recommended for this type of surgery. Wishing you a speedy recovery. Regarding the responses to the discussions, I guess all practical situations or the ones that you do on a day-to-day basis will grab reader's attention. Also any discussion with related images will invite participants

this site is not a competition if we get some responses that is blessing but if we do not we need to think harder on what we think would peak people interest sometimes i look at other post for inspiration and i usually get a few responses to my post sometimes not as many as i would like but if i get some responses i am happy.
