Today is the day.....

Nineteen years flew.. It seems like yesterday that we exchanged vows. Unsure of what the future holds for us !
Nineteen years down the lane, we shared everything. We became parents together and helped each other with our parenting duty and skills.
We laughed together, laughed at each other, cried together, cried for each other and even cried because of each other. Laughter, anger, sorrow, gratitude..we went through the gamut of emotions.
We saw ups and downs. We supported and even blamed each other. Through all fights, hugs, emotional outbursts, serene company...we survived and we came out even stronger. Our faith in the institute of marriage grew stronger with all bad phases that we faced together.
Today it's been 19 years of our marriage. A perfect example of two imperfect people making a perfect relationship.
Through those receding hairline, increase in power of glasses and borderline cholesterol, I can still see the boy I got married to, who matured as a family man and each day I see him pushing his limits to become the best dad...
Could never ask for anything more from Almighty.!

Thank you. We met at one of my relative's marriage. And soon he became my brother's friend. We were friends for five years before we got married.

@hereandthere Yes we did. But still I would say that most of this knowing and exploring about each other happened after marriage. We never went for any date before marriage. Most of our meetings were in presence of family and friends. Yes we did chat and had phone calls.

That is the story with most happy couples. I had raised a toast at a wedding and I remember saying that marriage is like a pair of railway tracks. They are parallel to each other but carry the load equally.

I really liked that comparison with a pair of railway tracks. Yes having a life partner is all about sharing life and it's good and bad with him/her.

Congratulations on your wedding anniversary. I can relate to that though my marriage is not that long as yours. Marriage is not that easy to manage and handle. Your patience will be tested and if you pass those times, you’ll get stronger and a better person.

I agree with each word of yours. The mantra is to stay realistic and invest in your relationship, accepting your spouse the way he or she is. Living in an unrealistic picture of Happy marriage and fairy tales is the recipe of all disasters.

Thank You so much! Yes time flies. But we can see the time in graying of hair, receding hair lines and ageing issues.

Congratulations! A beautiful relationship is not a relationship that starts out beautiful and stays beautiful all the time, but one that withstands the ugliness of human conflicts and grows stronger. I wish you well in the years ahead. :)
