For Biopsy.

This morning we visited an orthopedic surgeon. My husband for a decade now has a small overgrowth in his left femur (left thigh bone). It is called osteiod osteoma, a benign overgrowth in the bones. But it has been causing pain and discomfort with my husband everyday activities. We tried with all the pain relievers for a long time and now, it does not have effect anymore. Surgeon's recommendation is to have a biopsy to really know what is it and we go from there. My husband still need to undergo a cardiologist's clearance first so we will gor from there first.

OH good luck to him I hope it is benign and nothing sinister. It is horrible to be in pain!

Osteoid osteoma according to the doctor is benign overgrowth itself but the pain it brings is very sharp

I remember last Feb, in order for me to have my operation I need to have all the clearances needed. I think it is best for you to do what the Doctor’s said.

@JustBhem, it is so necessary then to have clearances before diagnoses and treatments

@cacay1 I agree. Because as the Doctor said, since they are going to use major anesthesia clearances should be process first.

It has been a decade he has this but the first doctor never mentioned surgery before probably because we have tried every possible pain medicine but recently, it does not have any effects anymore

@rakski Oh, my God, there are doctors who lack common sense and sensitivity. Most doctors are killers. There are many blah, blah only to see the patient getting worse.

I'm sorry to hear this. I truly hope it's not serious and can be removed or repaired soon. These things take so much time from start to finish with seeing doctors and making appointments. Prayers for your husband. Keep us posted and the best of luck with everything.
