Ugh, I love my 11 year old nephew but my god has parents don’t enforce them to shower daily and put deodorant on. The boy smells disgusting. I know my nephew’s doesn’t understand because his is autistic so basic humans things some times didn’t make sense to him. I just want to spray him down so he stops stinking up ever where he sits in my house.

Can't you make him take a shower at your house? When he comes over, just shoo him into the bathroom and tell him to take a shower! haha

No, I can not. I doesn’t know what he is like when it comes to showers and if he acutely needs someone to help him with it or not. I haven lived in the same house as him since he was 2 not given him any type of bathing since then. We only have one shower that works and it’s in our bed room some days hubby is still a sleep at that time.

Can't you invite the boy in a friendly way to shower in your house? Maybe he'd like that.

No, because we don’t use the same skin care productions as he used. I haven give him a bath or shower since he was a baby’s it’s been years so me asking him to shower at my own house wouldn’t be right. With him bend autistic there is certain things I just can not do.

@ShyBear88 Why don't his parents make him wash?

Not his fault really. You should talk to his parents.

Of course not his fault I wouldn’t never think it’s his. I’ve tried talking to them but some days they are like talking to a wall

Yeah, very unfortunate. I (like you) would cut him SOME slack due to his condition. But still. This would be awful.

Yes but with autisum it can be hard to each depending on where they are on the spectrum. He doesn’t have the concept of bathing and doing it daily. Weather he will get that concept or not will only happen over time of if a caretaker takes cares of him. He has has lazy parents.

@rakski they don’t all need that children in the spectrums have different ranges. I do know most of his triggers but I don’t know if he would be okay with his aunty give him a shower at the age of 11. He is high functioning but he probably wouldn’t live on his own as an adult. He does have to have reminders and routine which helps him. Not all need proper training they are not dogs they are people and like any other child they do need to be taught. Not everyone needs a shower very day but boys during their teen years form what I’ve heard do need to almost daily and lots of deodorant till there hormones are in order.

@ShyBear88 I agree, those kids need to be train on proper hygiene and they must be closely monitor by caregiver or parents

Lol. True. Boys are always filled with energy so they jump up and down everytime which tends to make them sweaty, that's why they stink
