Dentist/Implant

Remember my post from yesterday in which I went to the dentist because two teeth were bothering me? Well the loose one up front is continuing to bother me; and I want to get an implant.
I called the dentist's office and that gave me an estimate of $2,600-$3,500 which is ridiculous because I just read that implant costs are coming down. There could be a problem because my jawbone has receded. There has to be a stable part of the jawbone to install the implant.
Have you ever had an implant done? Do you think that estimate is ridiculous?

@amadeo That's what I'm afraid of is that my jawbone has worn down and receded too much for an implant. We shall see. Let me know how the pain is. One member of MyLot said it wasn't painful at all.

@LindaOHio Fibro pain nestles in tissues so even this would be drastic for me. Just a touch to the skin can be painful with Fibro.

I thought so too. From what I've been told by MyLotters the pain is extremely minimal.

I know they are which is why I never got any. I just lived with a few missing teeth until I got them all pulled and now have falsies

Most of my teeth are good; and I didn't want to have a missing front tooth. I guess I'll just have to check around!

It doesn't sound ridiculous to me because dentist prices are already outrageous as it is. It is terrible since your mouth is kind of really important and yet no one can afford to have it taken care of.

The dental insurance we have is only good up to $1,000 per year; and xrays and checkups come out of that total; so there isn't much left!

I do remember....and sorry to hear it is still bothering you. WOW, that is pretty pricey for an implant! I have never had one, so not sure. All of the prices seem outrageous to me!

Yes, you certainly are. I would like to see America doing that some day.
