Putting the finishing touches on our volume 1 trivia quiz with tunes with an exercise term in the title. This being the finale of volume 1, let's take a "The Long Walk Home" and cool down before tackling this quiz.
Or put a different way, "hand me down those walking shoes" and let's do the "Walk of Life." Some great lyrics from today's song video group Dire Straits. So enjoy the video and see if you can "fit" all the clues to the songs and artists.
Here are you song and artist clues- Whodunnit?
1. This Country Music icon with the deep, calm bass-baritone voice, is one of the best-selling music artists of all time, having sold more than 90 million records worldwide. Today's trivia tune is one of quite a few signature songs by this artist. As a matter of fact, the song was used as the title of a movie about the singer/guitarists life. This tune was the Man in Black's first number one hit on the Billboard charts. The song's lyrics refer to marital fidelity, personal responsibility, and avoiding temptation and criminal behavior. The song's title was another way of describing his "pledge of devotion" to his wife, since he was newly married, in the Air Force, and stationed in Germany. You might recall this artist's name from his prison concerts. One that was recorded at Folsom Prison was a favorite of my Mom's. I can still remember fondly one song from that album, "Orange Blossom Special."
2. This American hard rock band from Cleveland, Ohio released this tune in 1971. The song lyrics are about the ending of a relationship. This tune is still a staple on Classic Rock stations. The track was off the band's "Thirds, album and achieved moderate chart success. The group's drummer formed the band and previously played for another Ohio group called The Outsiders, who had a hit with "Time Won't Let Me." After many lineup changes the group found success as a trio. During their heyday, the band shared the stage with artists like: Grand Funk Railroad, Kinks, Humble Pie, Three Dog Night, Led Zeppelin and The Who. The band's guitarist really impressed The Who's Pete Townshend and this band opened for them many times. After leaving the group the guitarist went solo and eventually went on to become a member of The Eagles.
Bonus- Our video group Dire Straits released a hit single in the 80's which was their most commercially successful single, peaking at number 1 for three weeks in the United States. It was a widely played tune on music televison with a catchy lyric about wanting my MTV. The song was a real money making hit for Dire Straits.
Ok, time to "lets get physical" with those clues and answer the trivia quiz! If your stuck and need additional help just let me know in your response. You can "lean on me" if more clues are needed. As always, thanks for reading and responding to my music post !!!!

1) Sounds like Johnny Cash with I Walk The Line
2) The other two were easy but this one was a real challenge that I had to solve. I followed all your clues meticulously and searched and searched till I found The James Gang - Walk Away which I never heard. I had heard the name The James Gang but wasn't familiar with their songs.

I do not. I tried to take guitar lesson once but it didn't take. I think playing baseball was more important to me than practicing the guitar. If only I had stuck it out. Oh well, I do enjoy listening to talented musicians though.
