“What do you call a person who is happy on Monday? Retired.” — Unknown How many posts have we had about people hating Monday mornings? Just about as many as those that are happy for the weekend. I'm retired; and every day is Saturday to me. My husband still has the Monday work syndrome though. He doesn't like any doctor's appointments or anything else scheduled for Monday. He just doesn't like Mondays! But for the most part, retired people are happy on Mondays! Photo is from Pixabay.

I wouldn't mind a doctor's appointment on Monday, because it would mean I could take off work ;)

@LindaOHio - I almost got my wish--I have a doctor's appointment this Tuesday, so I am taking off. I need to get my knee looked at--having been having trouble with it. At least I can do some other errands while I'm out and about.

Don't allow unhappiness to set in. There is happiness in retirement when you seek this good feeling even in the simple things around you. Carpe diem.

Haha that's a good one. But I'm also happy on monday, I'm happy working in this place. It's better to work than going into arguments with husband at home. lol

Monday blues is so common and quite natural. But I have a fear of getting retired and sitting at home all days of the week. It would be good if you have something fun and engaging.

Retirement is the time to do all of the things that you didn't have time to do when you were working.

I am perhaps one person not affected by the Monday blues syndrome. I do understand that the workforce dread Mondays because Mondays are the war zone, recalling and recapping the previous week and the progress report presentation and so on. Natural to feel blue, especially after a lazy or carefree or relaxed weekend. Hope your husband overcome the Monday blues and begin liking this day.
