We had dinner with our vegetarian friend.
The live mostly in a remote place. But very nice.
This is a first for us but not for them.
While having dinner sat around enjoying pasta and salad.
Home made bread.
Then having a conversation all hell let loose.
The dog was barking .Look out the window a big black bear attacking the bird feeder. This is not the first time for them. For us it was the first.
I could not believe what I was seeing.Lucky enough to see him scooted off
He tore down the bird feeder which they have a few out there.
Took off and ran off in the wood.
The photo is not mine to give you an idea what they do.
On our way home Mike and I were talking about this event.
Photo is stock.

They love birdfeeders. One was spied around here getting into the bird feeder. I think it ran off though.

@amadeo Can you place a bell in front of the door that the wind would move and make noise, so that they do not come. I do not know if I could live somewhere where the bears approach

that'd be why folks'n bear country 're told NOT to put bird feeders out.

@amadeo that might be what they're sayin', but bears do feed'n the daytime's well. the bears're the ones who lose'n the long run, labeled "nuisance" 'n most oft killed. due to human 'ncroachment 'n lack 'f willin'ness to cooperate (aka: not leavin' bird feeders out, nor pet foods).

My mother-in-law once took a picture of a black bear literally lounging on her brother's deck! Glad everyone was ok!

@amadeo That is why it is good to have a dog in the house!

Wow, a real live bear there! Maybe it was mad because it was a bird feeder and not a bear feeder
.
