Many of us will be celebrating Father’s Day here in the United States. Being a very close, but busy family, we began our celebrating yesterday.
Our entire family met in New York City to celebrate Father’s Day at Citi Field for a baseball game. We had a special pass, so parked where the players and staff park, had free food, and fifth row corporate seats behind first base. Our team won in the last throw of the game, which made a great start to Father’s Day.
Our older son is celebrating the day on the ice with a hockey game playoff for our grandson and 6 hours of synchronized skating practice for the Ice Princess. They will go out to dinner afterwards to celebrate his special day.
We were invited to a Father’s Day dinner at our younger son’s in-laws home, where both father and father-in-law will get extra spoiled on their special day.
We are so blessed to have a loving family and extended family. We don’t need a holiday to let each other know how much they are loved. We show it every day of the week and every day of the year.
Happy Father’s Day to all who celebrate, and Happy Father’s Day to my precious daddy in heaven.

You are right..a holiday is not needed for family celebrations and loving tributes, but I think they are good to have to bring it to everyone's consciousness. Otherwise they are too easy to overlook by some.

On father's day, I got a gift from my father. LOL. Honestly, I am terrified of losing my parent. You came up with a post about buying land for burial. It quite depressed me. This is a happy post, but I still feel sad wondering how long we will be together, and how long I will be at the receiving end of gifts. Love parents have for kids is amazing. It never seems to cease.

I’m glad you remembered my post. We should consider ourselves lucky that we have had such great love for our parents and they for us. Not all are as lucky.
That’s hilarious that your father gave you a gift on Father’s Day! . Love each other as long as you can. I’ve lost both of my parents and miss them dearly. Our sons are already fearful of losing us. So sad.

Sounds like a wonderful way to celebrate, Father's Day. We celebrated with our daughter and son in law yesterday and today we saw our eldest son at church and then it was an Al and Iz day.

I love how you summed it all up at the end: we don't need a holiday to let each other know how much they are loved. To me, this is a perfect definition of family, and more specifically, a family full of love! Great job putting it all to words!

Dad are so special. Good that your son is pampering his father and father in law on their special day.
Even I wished Happy Father's Day to my dad in heaven. I have no memories of him. I have always wished his photo since my childhood.

@DianneN Mom always kept him alive by sharing his stories. And I always felt that he was by my side.
