Diary 10th June To 16th June 2019

My last few diary entries have become weekly summaries rather than daily ones and I must get back to daily entries here, but overall the last week has been very quiet for me. The chance to watch the movie Robot And Frank was covered in the page reviewing the movie. A very nice buffet followed he movie. Due to lack of money and with much of my income tied to the trip to Derbyshire in a week’s time I haven’t been out much. Tuesday 11th June was my mum’s 79th birthday. I visited her on the Sunday. My tight budget restricted me from getting out much, so my books and local shops came in handy. I also started preparing for my pub-signs trip to Derby. On the Thursday (13th June) I walked round to the community centre (about 20 minutes away), and used the computers for job searching and canning some photos. The weekend involved laundry, online activity and checking my bank details online. Frustratingly, the bank page crashed and wouldn’t let me in. They have an online chat-help desk so I asked someone there for help. He recommended I completely clear all my cookies off my server which I was not happy to do as it would mean logging them in anew for each page visited. He didn’t reply but when I tried logging into my statements again the bank page worked ok. Clearing my cookies would have been a waste of my time. Arthur Chappell

When it comes to clearing cookies, I find it's easier just opening another browser up when that's recommended. I use Firefox for most stuff, but I also have Chrome and Opera which I use for a few things (and IE and Safari I think).

Sometimes I feel that my posts are just to say good morning and good night. Routine is not much more than that. Yet when I started to write about the week in Mexico , with pictures and all, there was not much interest. So I returned to the normal hi and bye posts.

@marguicha yes, I expect a post proving the existence of aliens would get less attention than one saying we had sausages for tea

I hate clearing cookies, too. I'm glad you didn't have to this time but I wish they would fix whatever problem it is that forces it to be done.

@xander6464 help desks just use it as a standard reflex move after switch it off and on again, it gets quite lazy.

@xander6464 they just assume if your system isn't working it's because you are missing something obvious

It can be so annoying when bank pages crash - and travel/airline pages. I'm glad you got it sorted without clearing all your cookies.

@arthurchappell My bank page has only crashed once, I would be upset if it happened often.
