It's Tuesday

I didn't know what to call this post, so I called it the obvious. It's Tuesday.
You might have noticed or not, that I haven't been here this morning. I have a very good excuse for being absent. I was at the hospital for my 8-week appointment that normally takes three hours and is usually longer. However, it was three hours with no problems with the machine the IV was hooked to. It only beeped once and that was when it was finished. I can handle that.
I had a feeling today was blood draw day. It was, so I fasted and took my breakfast with me. I had my banana nut porridge this morning.
I had an issue with the nurse who poked me. I told her she made me feel stupid and she tried to defend herself. I need the smallest needle because my veins are tiny. She didn't use the smallest one, but a larger one and proceeded to tell me things have changed in the past 20 years. I told her using a larger needle would blow my veins. Thankfully, the vein didn't blow and she got it on the first poke. That rarely happens. However, after taking two full vials of my blood, she did apologize for making me feel stupid.
I don't know how you guys can watch that stuff on television. There was another woman in the room with me getting her treatment too. So, I suffered through Kelly and Ryan and The View and the beginning of Pawn Stars before she left and handed me the control. I quickly changed it but finding something interesting was hard. I finally settled on a good classic movie. And yes, I love this movie even though I am not a comedy genre loving person - Ghostbusters 2. It was the beginning of the movie, so obviously I didn't see very much of it before I was freed to leave. I got home at noon, which is what it should be but rarely is.
I did hand out my business card to the woman in the other chair and my nurse, not the one who poked me. I told her my new book is due out in the fall.
I planned to go to the pool this morning. I was ready to go, but I was yawning so bad, I went back to bed at 4:30 instead of heading to the pool and slept another 3 hours. I got up with just enough time to prepare my breakfast before I needed to leave.
I have no plans for the afternoon except to work my notifications and interact with you to see what you've been up to today. I also plan to work on a book or two. It was two yesterday. So, how has your Tuesday been? Thanks for reading.
Image mine, something more pleasant than my morning was. Taken from the Botanical Gardens Lego exhibit last summer.

Glad your treatment went well, including the needle into your small vein.
It was nice of the nurse to apologize, too, for making you feel stupid.
I don’t watch TV at all during the day except for the news in the background.
Love the photo! I remember when you went there. The pansy looks so real!

@DianneN I'm glad I don't have cable any longer. I'm afraid I wouldn't get anything accomplished. I would be watching it non-stop. I had a bad addiction to it at one time. I LOVE that channel. I have the opportunity on the Roku to watch a couple of shows from that channel. I've restrained myself so far.
It is a magical place. I love it. They're getting ready to start their concert series, free to members. I definitely want to go to a few of those.

Thank you. I'm glad she did too. I can't tell you the last time I watched daytime TV. Usually, when I go to these appointments I turn on HGTV if I watch anything.
Thank you. That one was taken on my birthday, the first time I visited the gardens. I've since been there several times. I need to renew my membership so I can continue enjoying it.

I love your photo, it's adorable! I have veins that roll, if I don't mention this defect, there have been many frustrated nurses, trying to get my blood! Not to mention, it hurts:( Working in the medical field, doesn't mean they all know what they're doing! What are your medical treatments for, Valerie?

@just4him That is so strange, I have digestive issues, also. They are checking me out for crohn's disease. With rolling veins, I've been prodded about 5-6 times, trying to get blood and it's painful!

@kobesbuddy They contact the SWAT nurse when they see my name on the board. The maximum poke now is twice before they call for one. Even they usually need to try twice before they find a vein that works. I'm glad I'll only have one bruise this time instead of two.

Glad it went as scheduled today. I sometimes enjoy watching The View. But Ghostbusters always beats that.

@didinedhia I'm sorry you don't have a park there.
