He Looks Different

My dog, Oreo, was finally groomed by our veterinarian.
He was sedated because he became wild.
An oxygen apparatus was connected to his nose/mouth so he can breathe well.Too bad I failed to take the photo. He spent a night at the Vet Clinic because the veterinarian wanted to be sure that he is well and "back to his senses" when we fetch him.
He looks like another dog after he was groomed. He was also administered the annual vaccination to keep him healthy.
We were so glad, Oreo is back and looking so neat now.

You should have posted a picture of him before the grooming. I have watched a video saying that it is not good for dogs to be sedated always because it can harm him later in life. I have watched a technique on how to tell your dog not to react if he feels threatened by letting the scissors touch him and removed repeatedly to associate that the scissors are not a threat to them before cutting their hair off. I do not know if it really works but he demonstrated it in a video that he was able to cut the hair of a dog that reacts violently when shown a pair of scissors.

@acelawrites I think he needs more time to figure it out. I think you should be patient with him. Sedating is not a good practice and could be fatal if the vet is not careful with dosages.

We had done it before, but he really bites who attempt to do so; even combing his hair. We love Oreo and we do not want to surrender him just that.

Oreo looks very handsome. Oreo here is a cat who is getting tired of running after her kittens.

You have a sensible Vet who ensured that all was well with your pet and kept him over night
Handsome Oreo!!!

Thanks, the vet is the only one who could handle Oreo; others refuse to groom him.

Maybe because he was not neutered and had no partner; and because during the first time he was groomed, the attendant cut his toenails too short, it hit the flesh.
