Hey everyone, hope you have had a great Tuesday! I have been away most of the day because it was shopping day.
My fasting sugar this morning I think was 140, or so. It wasn't great, but not horrible.
Anyways....so we went on our way to go shopping.
First stop of the day was WinCo. That is where I bought most of our groceries for the last 2 weeks. I got some chicken, philly cheese steak meat (comes with the seasoning), deli meat, cheeses, ground beef, etc. Stuck to buying mostly low carb items.
Then, we went to Target. Not a lot was purchased there. Most things are too expensive. I did get some paper plates, and some protein bars (wanted to try the new Quest donut protein bars - they have 4 net carbs).
Then, we went to lunch. My mom chose to go to IHOP. I decided on their fish and chips (I usually get that if a restaurant has it). The fries were alright....but the fish was pretty good.
After that we ended our trip with going to Wal-Mart. I just got a few more items that I couldn't get at the other two places. Of course, got my husband and son some other foods as well (that aren't low carb).
Oh, I did get some radishes to try....if I like them they are really low carb, so that would be good to have.
--For dinner, I had my leftovers from lunch (added some fries and a few fish sticks since that is what my husband wanted). Ending the day with a little candy (I know not good...)
I'll be back on plan tomorrow till the end of the month at least. Can't say how I will do over the 4th of July celebration though.
Anyways...how did you all do today?
Photo is mine; that was my plate of food at lunch.

Had chicken nuggets and a baked potato with sour cream for lunch. My husband brought home pizza for dinner. I had a double mushroom slice.

@MommyOfEli2013 I try and stay away from sausage, pepperoni, etc. and opt for lower fat options like mushrooms.

@LindaOHio I understand, it's just hard to wrap my head around when I try to eat more fat than anything else!

When I cook my own food, I can count calories better. Raw meat can be cooked in water and server with salads. Little carbs there.

I agree that cooking our own food it is easier to count the calories and such. I've heard of cooking raw meat in water, but never tried that, just never sounded appealing.

@MommyOfEli2013 You cook a delicious soup with meat and maybe a potato and some veggies. It has less calories than a stew. You can eat the broth and afterwards the meat and the potato with a bit of mustard.

@marguicha I have never cooked homemade soup, or stew...but sounds interesting. I also don't eat veggies (or potatoes on my diet). I mostly do a carnivore diet, but with dairy included. I would have a cup of broth though.
