Flesh-Eating Bacteria Spreading to the North

A flesh-eating bacteria may be on the rise on some East Coast beaches due to the climate change. What normally would be found on beaches in southern states such as Louisiana and Texas has now been found in the Delaware Bay. It's spread by handling or eating raw or undercooked seafood, especially oysters. Vibrio vulnificus usually occurs in high-salt, brackish waters with surface temperatures above 55 degrees Fahrenheit. This is just another example of what global warming is doing to our planet. Photo is from Pixabay (is not Vibrio vulnificus but looks similar).

A flesh-eating bacteria. It sounds like a Hollywood movie. Being real it makes life very frightening.

Oh, this is scary. I think America will come out with some way to remediate it.

Good to know! That's another reason I wouldn't eat raw or undercooked seafood!

I don't know where you are; but you never know. What state are you in if you don't mind my asking?

This is terrible, the spread of all these hideous bacteria in the salt-water. Jay and I both had 'Mersa' which is a flesh eating virus. It was treatable, with a certain type of antibiotic. Most viruses won't respond to antibiotics!

We conveniently blame everything on global warming, but should do our part to love this place Earth we call home and treat it right..
