Today Is Not Just Any Old Day

Today is my birthday, so it’s a lot different than my average days.
We celebrate big in our family, and right now I have some time to myLot before the next wave of celebrating hits. 
Last night my husband tried to give me a birthday gift before bedtime and not on my real birthday, as he usually does. I refused to open it. However, I forgot all about it when I woke up this morning to tend to Doodles the cat. Of course, my husband didn’t forget and brought the box and card downstairs with him. It’s a family joke. That’s how he is.
So, I received a beautiful ring and a generous gift card to my favorite store.
I was the honoree at a breakfast thrown by my friends this morning at my best friend’s house.
The phone has been ringing off the hook (I just took a call while writing this), I have received texts and lovely Facebook greetings and messages, and personal messages on myLot.
My husband made reservations at my favorite French restaurant for dinner tonight. Our younger son and his wife will join us. The restaurant assured my husband they can accommodate vegans and vegetarians. I told our older son not to bother coming in all the way from New York City with his family just for dinner. The same for my brother and his wife. Afterall, it’s not a big birthday,
I feel the love just the same. Sorry I’m behind in my notifications. I wanted you to know why.

Thank you so much! It's been a wonderful day so far, and am really looking forward to dinner with the kids tonight. Our son is stopping by first to see Doodles and we'll go together from here. His wife works not far from the restaurant, so will meet us there at 7.
