Small Group Bible Study

Small groups at church usually meet during the school year, October to May. One of the members of my small group from last year contacted me and wanted to go through the study again I did on prayer last year. We met for our first session tonight. Unfortunately, due to a car accident in her family, she wasn't able to be here tonight. However, I still had three ladies show up and we had a good session. We had one more person I wasn't expecting so it was a very good session. So, next week there will be five of us instead of four. It should be a good session. I got the apartment cleaned and prepared in time. It's been a busy day, and yes, I got a nap in too. I'm now making my supper, and then I'll be going to bed as it's late and I want to get to the pool in the morning. My knees really need it as I fell getting everything ready for the study. I tripped over the footstool in the living room. I landed more on my right knee and leg than the other, but they both took a beating. The hot tub will feel wonderful tomorrow. At least I won't need to clean for a few days. How was your Thursday? Thanks for reading. The picture is one I took yesterday when I went to see my son and family. My older son and granddaughter.

I'm sorry you fell. That could have been very nasty. It's a lovely photo.

Yes, it could have been a lot worse than it was. I'm moving slowly this morning and not going to the pool as I hoped.

Our church is doing small bible study groups too. I'm not in one of them though. Our preacher announced two Sundays ago that he's leaving. So I don't know if they will continue doing the small bible study groups after he leaves. (for me I don't want him to leave. He's a good preacher.) That footstool should have moved for you. lol

What religion do you have? I know that some religions have daily Bible study. My mother has such studies very often.

@dya80dya If you don't read the Bible you don't know what it says and you rely on someone else to know what's in it. Sadly, many of those 'in the know' people don't know any more than the other person. About the only person you can rely on is the pastor. You believe he or she at least knows what they're talking about. The best way to know that is to have one who makes you turn the pages in your Bible as you learn about the topic he or she has chosen for that day. I became a Christian 39 years ago. I've read my Bible every day since then. I can't tell you how many times I've read through the Bible and done in-depth studies in it. I've made certain the Scriptures mentioned in sermons are the Scriptures they're referencing. People are human and get those Scriptures wrong on occasion. However, a good minister will be trustworthy. I have many notebooks filled with sermon notes as well as Bible study notes from my own studies. I use commentaries and Bible dictionaries where necessary to learn even more about my favorite subject - the Bible and God.

I'm a Christian. It's my practice to do a Bible study daily. It has nothing to do with religion and everything to do with my relationship with Jesus Christ.

@just4him This is good. Here many people who say they are religious don't do this. They don't read the Bible.

It's hard when you answer a post several days later and you have no clue what you did that day. I'm glad it was good.

Beautiful picture of that granddaughter with her chubby cheeks, It was a good day except when my sister and I went to Lifeway to select a new Bible for her birthday this week after getting a email that this was going to be the last week they were going to be open (and told a few days before when I was in the store their last day opened here would be nest week only to find that they were already closed which was a bummer, but we did find her one at Books a Million for a good price the Amplified which is one of my favorites which kind of surprised me as she always leaed towards the KJV. We then met up with a friend of hers and went out to lunch. The rest of the day has been quiet.

@ShifaLk Ah. When I was growing up we called our meals breakfast, dinner, supper. Supper was the evening meal. Most people call it dinner. Once in a while, I lapse back into the familiar.

@just4him okay. I meant what is a Supper? Is it any small meal during the day or only in the night?

It's a good chance to meet people and get to know them as well as learning something new.
