Maine Lobsters

When we were in Maine in addition to seeing the rocky coastline and lighthouses there were lobsters everywhere. Restaurants offered "two-fers"...Two steamed 1 lb. lobsters for a special price. The dining rooms were full of people; and all you could hear was the "crack, crack" as they cracked open a claw or leg...and piles and piles of red shells in bowls. There were many fish markets where you could buy fresh lobsters and cook them yourself. We even saw some people at a roadside park with a big pot on a grill cooking up their lobster purchase. We also saw big, steaming lobster pots in front of one market where they'd cook up your lobsters for you. To think that at one time lobsters used to be so abundant that they used to feed them to prisoners. Have you ever been to Maine? Have you ever had lobster?
