SOS: How to minimize a file size? / myLot

I downloaded a book online and I want to read it. Unfortunately though it is a PDF file I cannot open it because it is a large file. All I can do is to open it through Google Drive. That makes me sad because I can't read it offline. Do you have any idea how to minimize the file size?

Well, as far as I know you can't really reduce the size of the PDF file... Though as said by @mrki444 , you can try splitting it

PDF is already reduce type of file so it can be again reduced.

There's nothing you can do to minimise the file size of a downloaded PDF file. Of course, you can use a 'zip' facility to compress the file, which will probably reduce the file size, but this won't help you when you come to open the file because the file would need to be uncompressed in order to be read.

You cannot minimize a .pdf file, you can reduce images but not pdf or txt files.

I'm not sure if it will work but you could try converting it to epub format. But you have to use an ebook reader so that you can open & read the file. What are you using to read? Maybe I can recommend some apps for you.
