Did Someone Mention Breakfast?

Up and at it early this morning? Yes, I am. I got up with the dogs and wife at Pee O'Clock this morning and we went for a 2-mile walk around the neighborhood while it was still cool enough to be comfortable. Upon returning home and feeding the dogs while the missus prepared for work, I prepared my own breakfast you see pictured here. The blueberry muffin is homemade. The missus baked a double batch yesterday to take to work for a meeting today. Those not fitting into the container are mine to enjoy. I split it in twain, toasted it, buttered it, and enjoyed it. The sausage is Butterball Turkey Sausage. Unlike turkey "bacon," which I find repulsive, turkey sausage tastes like real sausage. This should not be surprising as most of the taste of sausage is in the seasoning rather than the meat itself. I have a full day ahead of me. Phone calls to make, the house to clean, garden fence to buy and put up in the yard. Just thinking about it makes me tired. Maybe I should take a wee nap first. I hope y'all have a wonderful day. What's on your schedule?

Watching the weather to decide here. Possible storms later. I think the nap is a great idea.

It is going to be hot around here later today. I decided to postpone my nap until then. I did get the housework done.

That is a very filling breakfast. I can eat that much breakfast too. However, we only have sandwich and coffee for breakfast at our house since we are in a hurry in preparing for work in the morning. But at my mother's house, the helper prepares a healthy breakfast , with fried rice and viands.

@DWDavis Eggs and sausages are easy to cook. Those are also some of the things I hurriedly prepare as fillings for sandwiches for breakfast.

@SIMPLYD This morning I cooked myself a cheese omelet and linked sausage (turkey). Preparation took all of 5-10 minutes, including making my coffee.

During the school year, a sandwich with egg and sausage is my usual breakfast.

My usual breakfast during the summer is a cheese omelet and the two sausage patties with a cup or two of coffee. If I'm very hungry, I'll add an English muffin.

@Ronrybs You may have seen them labeled as toaster crumpets or American Muffins. They were invented in the 1880s by an Englishman living in New York City. This article gives a short history.

@DWDavis I've never tried an English Muffin, but that could be because we've no idea what they are! I do wonder how they got their name

I am going to substitute in grade 5. A tough, tough class. Tomorrow grade 4, a great class overall. Wednesday my vacation starts. Unless, I get called for Wednesday or Thursday. But for sure Friday my vacation starts. Then my days will be filled with house and garden.

Is it just the kids in the class that make the 5th grade so tough?

Yes. Our students finished on May 24th. It has been a busy summer. The week after the kids left, my oldest son and I traveled to Norfolk for some father/son time visiting the museums and the battleship before he deploys to an unspecified place for an indeterminate length of time. The following two weeks, my wife and I were camping with our club Thu-Sun. Last week was the first week I've spent the whole week at home.

@DWDavis Sounds like a fun thing to do. What a nice treat. I look at it this way how they taste and not what they look like. I can understand that she has to take nice ones to work. I was very tired so went back to sleep and got up and fed my cat and then did mylotting.

I've only recently come to like blueberry muffins. For some reason, when I was younger, I didn't care for them. Now, I enjoy them very much.

I"m waiting for hubby to get back from hardware store with new plug, get it in and then we can install the new AC/heater unit. I will have to help him get it in the window and then I am off to visit my mom in the hospital. Don't over do it in this heat.

You should probably do a few chores first before starting your nap! Good luck with having a productive day.
