Another Lowes Visit, More Live Plants

This time the live plants are 2 relatively small Leyland Cypress trees. When I visited Lowes last week they had none of these younger trees available. I happened to go there today for something else and walked right by them. As I walked back out, I felt compelled to take them home with me. They may be too big for the planters on the front porch. I'll let the missus decide when she gets home tonight. If they are, I'll plant them out along the fence line. One more task left for today and I can sit back and watch futball.

I'm sure these will grown into nice trees wherever they're planted.

They will if we can remember to keep them watered every day until their roots take a good hold, and if we can keep the dogs from "watering" them.

@JudyEv No. It tends to turn the trees yellow.

If I'm not mistaken those trees have a very nice scent. Enjoy them! So what did the missus decide to do with them?

She decided they needed to be planted by the fence since they were too big, in her opinion, for the planters on the porch.

We have had Leyland Cypress trees as Christmas Trees in the past. These have some growing to do before they'd be good for the task.

We now have 4 evergreen trees, young ones, planted along our fence. We hope they will grow into a nice barrier in time.

@DWDavis They will. Sadly many evergreens dont root real deep and thus will blow over when it is wet. Hope yours hold up well. That is what happened with the one at my mom and dads place. The fence can help protect them some.

I'm glad you found a couple of trees to add to your fence line.

We will add more over time. It's a long term project.

Lowe's has replaced the Home Depot as the place where my relatives like to buy their home improvement needs.

We have a Lowes here in town. The nearest Home Depot is at least an hour away. The decision is easy for us.

I'm counting on them getting tall and filling out enough to make a visual barrier along our fence line.

Aren't they? I just couldn't leave them alone in the store with all those bigger cypresses and other evergreens picking on them.
