Tropical Depression "Dodong" Is in our Country
PAGASA, our weather agency announced that TD Dodong is located at the East of Calayan, Cagayan, Philippines as of 10 in the evening.
Rains and thunderstorms are experienced in the country due to this tropical depression.
Wind disturbance "Dodong" is classified as tropical depression because it has maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometer per hour near the center.
When its sustained winds will intensify to 73 mph, tropical depression will become a tropical typhoon.

I think we just need the rain but not the winds and the destructive waves from the seas. It could help fill up the dried up dams we have right now. But I know this TD will never landfall in our country. It might njust bring some rains around the areas in Northern Luzon.

@Nakitakona But I know that this is not enough to fillup the dams since it has reached its critical levels which means its almost empty already. I think one more typhoon that has lots of rainwater to pour in will at least raise its level.

Dodong is not yet a storm. Once it intensifies into a strong wind, then it becomes a storm.

@thelme55 Nope. It's not. Tropical Depression winds have a center wind speed of 39 kph or below, while tropical storm has 40 to 79 kph.

Dodong isn't yet a storm. It's still a depression which carries lots of rains and thunderstorms. The only thing we worry about is the flood from continuous pouring of rain.

Lately a report said TD Dodong hasn't made a landfall yet. Once it will intensify it will become a storm.
