Why quit a job...???

I met one of my colleagues from the other team after a very long while, she wasn't around for a while and got engaged...
As she was sharing her feelings about the engagement and new life, she mentioned that she has put up the resignation. I immediately asked about what's next...
I was expecting a company's name in reply, but to my surprise she said she won't be working anymore.
I further inquired the reason for this decision, she said she doesn't want to because now she has a husband... He will take care.... And she laughed out loud...
I was thinking, like seriously... What about her independence...
I am not judging her decision, just wondering.... Why...???
Would you think if doing something like this.. ??
Or have you done this... For no reason at all...?

If she and her husband are both happy with that situation then that's OK. Some people choose to be a housewife (or househusband). Perhaps they plan on having children and she wants to be home for them. I'm sure they would have discussed this before they made the decisions. Some people need financial independence while other couples pool their resources. My partner is not able to work so I take care of him. If that was not the case, he might have continued working while I stayed home with the children until they could care for themselves. There are pros and cons to all situations.

@Aansh13 I don't know so much in other places but, here in England, it was traditional for a woman to stop work once she got married. It was expected that she would care for her husband and the home and for children when they came along. Some people still choose that tradition.

She will soon realize how wrong she is in doing this.

Probably her husband is rich, so she doesn't need to work any more. Or her husband wants her to stop.

That is a really strange reason to quit a job.
I quit a job once, but it had nothing to do with my marital status.
I was not happy with the workplace, it was far too stressful, and it was after my husband suggested that I had lost my 'happy place' in life that I quit that job.

Oh I think she is very much in love with his husband that she likes just to serve his husband and nothing else. I just hope that her husband to be will be able to provide for the things at home so that her wife would not feel inadequate as a wife.
We cannot judge her right now since we do not know if the hubby can provide for everything for the home. Maybe they want the ideal setup for their family that wife should stay at home and would rear for the well being of the home and their future children. For some it may work if the husband has a stable job or business.

Or she wants to show how much she love her husband like she can sacrifice all she have just for her husband but in that case she should work more to have a more savings for their soon to be family
