My love for "Greensleeves" the song and the music is what got me thinking of the love that Henry the Eighth might have had for that Lady Anne Boleyn.
For me they can keep that kind of love that seeks only to enslave.
To me he only wiped the floor with her and yet she gave him a daughter.
Gave him a daughter that ruled Great Britain for so long.
I am not saying she was a Saint of course but compared to him and what he did well the divide is really big there.
I for one would not put up with it.
Maybe I am a rebel at heart.
Finally! I found it! After hours (or days?) of searching i got it: Greensleeves Yeah i know, some of you already know it. But it was pretty hard to find this...

I have always felt that when I saw that Series about him and his Wives.
I have always been a rebel at heart against that kind of treatment.

@ShifaLk
I can also relate without going into things of the past.
When I was small perhaps the worst bit of all.

I don't think that king was capable of feeling the serenity of Greensleeves.

I think he probably romanced the idea of having a son with her which they did have but he had been around and made her ill if you see what I mean therefore she lost the boy child they were having.
He was more than a flirter to put it politely but with other women.

@lovinangelsinstead21 Every king had the chance to be great. This one failed. Greensleeves conveys the beauty of a land and a people.

You know they did a great Series on BBC1 with Keith Michell played the part of a Henry that flew into fits and rages of temper and he is perhaps the best Henry we will ever get to see.
When he was dying he was asking for mercy so maybe he was not so bad after all I guess we will never really know what made him go like that.
The Plantagenets were very well known for that kind of character.
"Greensleeves" is very much romantic and I found it extraordinary that someone like him could be like that.

Didn't know that that song has some link with Henry the VIII. Just to show that his love was so fickle (but the song lasts almost forever, hurrah for the music). That was also the first song I played on the guitar when I was 12 (I was so proud, so was my mom & brother
). Looking back, the whole thing was amusing.

Its a beautiful song and I wished that he had not had her killed and for him not to have been so fickle either.
Like her daughter she had a mind all of her own and that for him was just not on.
I could play Greensleeves on the recorder as guitar would have been a no no in our house.

Yes they were a woman now is not so badly off as she was then.
If you were a clever woman you had had it in the sense that they were out to get you whichever way they could.

I would wish for history to right a wrong against Anne Boleyn and I really felt for her so I don“t watch those kind of things very often.
