An illusion? A Hallucination?

My ever-loving sister is once again having these so-called 'insomniac problems'. She told me this morning that she wanted to wake me up at 3 AM because she cannot sleep, despite taking anxiolytics and antihistamines. She remarked she saw a ‘’white shadow’’ in the dark side of her room. She prayed with eyes closed. Much as I want to ‘open her eyes’ about delusions and hallucinations, I cannot do so because she always has her reasons, and I cannot win over her. What I did was I just nodded and showed approval with her remarks. What I did not like though, was she thinking the ‘’white shadow’’ was either our father or our mother ‘visiting her’; I told her she should not think that way because these can be done by the evil spirits. They may be testing her faith. Or maybe she just wants to sleep? I do not know.

I think there are people who can see that even if we don't understand them and we don't experience it the way they do.Prayer is the key and you have to talk to her more and more about other things to make that stay away from her mind.

That sounds like a horror story you have in your house. I think that you should have her check if what she is seeing is really hallucinations or real. It may be that she maybe haunted with some spirits that roam your place. Or she may simply be hallucinating due to the medications she is taking. But with antihistamines she should be knocked down with it since it is like a sleeping pills when I takes those pills when I have my rhinitis I would easily go to sleep fast.

@ridingbet why does she needs attention to you? Maybe she needs something from you?

@rsa101 no reason. she is a perfectionist and oftentimes she has something to say to me and my son.

It's been awhile since I've been here but I never forgot your sister and her annoying ways. Seems like she needs to see a doctor for her mental state. She's very obstinate, my impression from your stories about her. And arguing with this person will get you nowhere. So it was best that you didn't try to reason out with her.

i believe she was hallucinating that time. she has not slept soundly for more than 4 hours every night and she is always overthinking.

She says this because she wants attention. You know that it's not worth discussing with her.

@ridingbet I think that the suggestion of your son is a good one. She should go away a couple of months and let you live in peace.

defintely. i and my son often tell her to have 2 months break and go to the capital city and live with her daughters. school will open next month. she says she cannot travel alone by plane or bus, and besides, if she is in the city, she will still be left alone at home.

@LadyDuck right on that. when we have disagreements, that is what she tells us, and acts like packing her things already. then she stops and says, she has no companion in riding the bus, and the bus terminal in the capital city is far from her daughter's home. hahaha

It sounds like she hasn't changed much since you last wrote about her. I'd nod my head at her, since she doesn't seem to listen to reason.

I'm sorry she's having delusions and hallucinations and can't sleep. I hope it won't last and she can sleep tonight.

i think she is already dependent on antihistamines and anxiolyics. that is what i dislike about her- she wakes me up in the middle of the night and ask me if she can take a pill. i always tell her that if she feels she cannot sleep soundly, as early as 10 PM, she should gulp a pill already

Oh, that's so sad. My advice is to give her support, because she may actually see something.

She's imagining things. In my own limited knowledge, she's hallucinating due to the meds she takes.

the medicines, she takes only as needed. she can alternate the anxiolytics and the antihistamines depending on what she feels.

@ridingbet I see. So it hasn't much to do with hallucinations. But rather it's illusions.
