Disney Land for Outdoors Lovers

Our local Bass Pro Shop is pretty cool. It has a stream in the center of the main floor, and a “wooded area” with a waterfall and arcade shooting games on the second floor. I wrote a discussion about it once and Lori commented how she was taking pictures in it!
But our local one pales in comparison to the largest Bass Pro Shop in the world, located in Memphis.
Do you remember “the Pyramid,” a pyramid-shaped arena where several NCAA tournaments were held as well as countless concerts? It’s a Bass Pro Shop now.
It. Is. HUGE. Think of it as Disney Land for outdoors lovers. (Well, outdoors lovers with a lot of money, if you’ve ever been in a BPS and seen the prices of some of the stuff in there....
)
Not only is there a store that is far better stocked than any BPS I’ve previously been in, there’s a hotel, a restaurant, an alligator pond (see picture), and an elevator that’ll take you to the top of the Pyramid and the observation deck. (That’s $10, and I didn’t go because I have a problem with heights.)
Also included is a “waterfowl” museum, sponsored by Ducks Unlimited.
Surprisingly, especially given that it’s located in downtown Memphis, the parking is free.
No, I didn’t buy anything. (I was spending my money on upscale hotels this trip.
) But it was fun to walk around the massive store.

I haven't been to the Bass Pro Shop here but I have been to Cabelas which is similar and even though I am not a big outdoorsy person, it was like being in an entirely different world. It has small exhibits teaching about animals and even a small aquarium, it was so cool!

My fiance would like that store. He likes Cabelas. I went to a Cabelas near where he lives.

Cabela’s was purchased by Bass Pro Shop a few years ago. They’re essentially the same store now, just different names.

Ducks Unlimited is a conservation group, not a store. Bass Pro Shops sell all types of outdoor gear from tents to boats to clothes.

Dysney Land will be built in our country. It's near a place where I worked.

I did not know that the Pyramid is now a local Bass Pro Shop.
