Life is Like a Winding Road

Okay I admit it, it sounds like something Forest Gump would have said. But...think about it. There you are walking that straight line straight to your goal when all of the sudden you come up to a curve in the road. Of course, there are also bumps along the way. I think they both may be there to slow us down a bit and make us really think about where we are going and what we really want. I have noticed when I reach a curve in my road towards my goal I slow down and it gives me a moment to think. When I hit a bump it gives me time to reconsider when I am going. Sometimes these little pause are just enough time to reconsider what I really want. And sometimes I adjust my plans a bit. Do you hit those bumps and curves? Do they make you sit back and think? ***I had a beautiful image all picked out to use for this post but unfortunately I seem to be unable to make the photo option work at this time. If I can get it to go on here later I will.***

That is true, life is a winding road, most often, not smooth. Watch out for the signs, these are warnings of what could be up ahead. I think you are managing the winding road just fine.

When I was younger, I would be rushing around all the time. Now I have some health issues and because of dealing with this, I have slowed down and smelled the roses along the way.

@HazySue very true! That was so hard for me to accept, that I couldn't do the things that I used to. But, it could be worse so I finally had to accept it.

It sounds like the way my life has gone. Once you hit a certain point you have no choice but to slow down.

True, sometimes I think those forks and potholes pause us for a little bit of time so we can rethink what we are doing.

Some have mountains to cross and raging rivers to ford too. Luckily my 'mountains' have only ever been, at the worst, biggish hills.

Lucky you. There are many road blocks that seem to pop up in life. The best you can do is do the best you can do.

Earlier today I drove a couple of friends for a doctor's visit and there were quite a few bumps along the way. When we are able to see them we slow down so that they don't do much damage. The thing is to be alert and watch for difficulties and learn to deal with them.

When I hit something like that I pray about it and realize it's either God changing my oh so bright plan () OR it's a road block from the enemy and God will work it out for GOOD. =)

I think you can learn from every bump and curve as you go through life. I figure pretty much the same way you do. God has a new plan for us.

The bumps and curves are the scenery along that long and winding road of life. I take it all in stride.

It's the only way you can get through life is to take things with a grain of salt.

That s what life is all about. It's not always smooth sailing, and we all need to take the time to smell the roses.

Absolutely. Along your bumpy, curvy road of life you do need to take time to appreciate what you have.
