We're used to the paper straws, we haven't been able to use the plastic ones for a while now.
I need to buy some steel ones for us here at home.
They will soon be banning plastic shopping bags in Canada also, I think that its about time. We all need to be mindful of our planet earth and do what we can to ensure that its there for future generations.

yeah I am glad to see them moving away from plastics. I don't like the paper ones either but that at least breaks down when someone tosses it out a window, or throws it on the ground. Living this close to the beach, I see where all those little pieces of plastic end up. On our beaches, and I would say our beaches are very clean, one can find pieces of plastic lining the beach: stuff the size of pencil lead and smaller. This stuff isn't good for the environment. It inst good for the creatures who end up ingesting it. I just saw a report that states that we humans ingest about a credit card sized dose of plastic buried in our food every single day. You won't see the stuff, it is so small but it is there in every thing.
