Alcatraz Island - an arduous journey

It is only my enthusiasm that I joined that trip to Alcatraz Island. After winding up that US package tour I spent time with family and friends and this friend joined me on that arduous journey to Alcatraz.Island
The ferry ride was enjoyable but walking up to that prison where gangsters spent their lifetime was not easy. It was pretty high up as you can see from the image.
Al Capone the famous gangster's room is maintained. Amused to see even the mug he used is there. Not bad that even gangsters are remembered and US makes money from tourists just to visit that prison
The reason why that prison is up there is because swimming back to the main land is next to impossible as the water is far far cold. Even then some did escape and that is another story.

The US package tour had this as an option. I had paid for it but could not make use of it as my friends just came and took me away. They joined me on this tour later and paid for it (lol)

@BelleStarr I had a total of 55 days in the US 21 package and remaining I spent with family and friends. San Francisco, San Jose, Oxnard, Denver, New Jersey. All my friends and family gave me a taste of their life there. One common thing I noticed was they all wasted food (lol)

The major attraction was to visit that prison. There was a museum there and history was read of all prisoners

That prison had the most notorious prisoners who needed to be put in a place where escape was not possible.

It is a nice experience; but for me I rather look at it from a distance. There were so many movies that had it as the setting.

That museum had a lot of info on those prisoners. They were not ordinary prisoners.
