We all know the name Kellogg, it's one of the most famous food brand names ever. I was watching a documentary about the men behind the brand, the Kellogg brothers. It was an interesting documentary for the most part from an educational perspective. One of the most shocking elements of the documentary though, was the assertion that one brother, Dr. John Harvey Kellogg was a proponent of the eugenics movement. Evidently, he was quite an outspoken proponent, in fact. Eugenics (for those who don't know) is the practice of attempting to eradicate people & traits deemed as supposedly inferior or undesirable. When I think eugenics, I immediately think of the atrocities committed by Adolf Hitler & SS Dr. Josef Mengele.

I believe he was also a vegetarian and a Seventh-Day Adventist. In today’s cupcake world that might lead to a boycott of Kellogg’s products. Guess we’ll have to ban Fords, too, because of Henry Ford’s rampant antisemitism (he bought a newspaper called the Dearborn Independent in 1919 and filled it with Jew hatred, so much so that Hitler gave him a medal).

"In today’s cupcake world that might lead to a boycott of Kellogg’s products." You are probably quite correct there, but W.K. Kellogg (the younger Kellogg brother) is actually the one most responsible for making the Kellogg brand the household name it is today. His brother's views on eugenics shouldn't be held against him or the company (in my personal opinion @ least.)
