Saturday at the Zoo

We went to the zoo that is nearest my daughter's home. It is free with suggested donation requests. I love the conservatory--a big glass house filled with amazing plants and flowers and a few birds and fish. We parked off site and rode a free shuttle bus. I tried to get pictures on my phone but they did not turn out right. There are three shuttles, painted to match the giraffe, cheetah and flamingo. Even the windows have painted on patterned shades. The seats are comfortable and it makes parking a breeze, even if like my daughter, you have a large vehicle to drive. The programs throughout are educational and entertaining. The zoo is not too large to enjoy with kids and adults alike. Volunteers also have a chance to show off educational material and animals like snakes. So this is day two of our visit. I included a link.
For over 100 years, Como Zoo and Marjorie McNeely Conservatory in St. Paul, Minnesota has charmed, educated and entertained millions of children and adults while fostering an appreciation of the natural world.

There were many neat things. My phone did not seem to do well with the pictures, though. Not sure what went wrong.

The kids are at a great age. Oldest one tried to say the zoo would be boring, but she had a good time once we got going.

@GardenGerty they usually do. I have a daughter that was like that when she was a pre-teen and a teenager.

I have been to the one near you. Enjoyed it a lot. That was likely fifteen years ago for us.

Sounds everyone enjoyed the outing at the zoo! Zoos are a great place for the children to learn about the world we live in and others we share the world with.

It is a great space for us to do things all together, but at our own level. Oldest grand daughter gets her curiosity piqued so that she goes home and studies more.

@GardenGerty Isn't it great when children want to learn and not be forced to learn on their free time.

I love to see the animal and that shuttle bus sounds great. Too bad the pictures didn't turn out.

Each zoo seems to be unique.
