Water Well

When I was still a little and living in the rural village of Libon, Albay of Bicol region I used to fetch water in the water well.
Me and my fellow kids will have pails and walk around 200 meters near the creek and fetch water. We have an improvised wheeler where we put the pails.
That was long ago.
But when I saw this water well (in the photo) in one rural village in my province the memories of my childhood flashback. The time when water system is not yet available or the electric water pump, and water refilling stations are not yet available.
That was fun then.
Did you have water well in your place? Have you experience fetching water in the wells? Such a memories of my younger age.

Thankfully I've never had to fetch water in this way.

It was around four decades ago but every time I see well the memories lives on.

We still fetch water from well, and we have two well . But nowadays we availed electric water pump with pipes .. it becomes more convenient than before

Yes the water pumps and electric water pumps give us the convenience in doing everything.
