Yesterday's Accomplishments

As you know from my previous discussion that I had a couple of goals and things to take care of yesterday. Here is what we accomplished:
1. Medicaid: Got application all filled out and submitted. We should hear back from them within a week as to whether or not mom is approved.
2. Restore Louisiana: I finally got these people on the phone. This is what I learned:
*Mom's house passed inspection on June 17. 2019.
*Occupancy license done and she is free to move back
*Addressed the electrical problem in the master bathroom. Paperwork will be done and submitted and the contractor will call me to set up a time to get in the house and fix.
So this all leads me to believe that my brother's girlfriend just wanted a place for her son to stay while putting my mother off in getting back into her house. Does this sound like a loving and caring girlfriend to you? For those of you that do not know, I caught the son in my mom's house. He didn't leave when I told him to so I called the police. He lied and said he did not have a key. His mommy gave him a key. He had told the neighbor the day before that he was working on her house and had been given a key.
I'm done with my brother and his girlfriend.

Not very caring people in my eyes. I am glad that you got a lot of things taken care of and that your mom will be moving back in. I would tell your brother that the only time he could enter the house is if you are there. Well that is what I would do.

My mom would hit the roof on that I am sure. She is pissed about her bank account being drained again so maybe she will do something about it this time. I told her it is time for tough love. She is not helping him by harboring him, only enabling him to steal more from her.

It had to have been working at inspection time. It had tripped the breaker but the breaker won't stay on so something is haywire there. It shouldn't be a hard thing to fix. We can start moving her back in before that is done. She has another bathroom that she can use. But...this tropical depression will be dumping rain through the weekend so that will slow us down.
Oh and the gf has two other boys and two girls. I think our next conversation may have her rethinking her relationship status. I hope so.

Will someone else be moving back in with her when she does? Glad everything is getting taken care of now.

I'm glad you were able to get Medicaid and Restore done. The other thing with your brother and his girlfriend. So typical of family problems. I hate it!

I just find it unusual that he hasn't tried to call her again after I hung up on him or come over (yeah it is a 2-hour drive, but still...this is his mother.) But then again, he is just interested in her money and his true colors are showing just fine now.

@DocAndersen Thank you. It is a daily battle and all this other BS is just weighing me down. But I'm fighting the battle, not lying down and rolling over.

I would be done with him too. How about changing the locks?
I'm glad everything is taken care of and the house is ready for her to move in.

Yep, he said his mother gave him permission. Hello, the house does not belong to the mother. That is why she wouldn't let mom in to see the house or give me the code. Lock box has been off for a couple of weeks now and she still wouldn't hand over a key. Fixed that. We changed all the locks and now brother and his girlfriend can't get in without breaking in.
