We have a new tropical depression that has formed in the Gulf of Mexico and already bringing lots of rain to New Orleans, LA. Last night the forecast called for four to nine inches of rain for Baton Rouge, LA through the weekend.
The Governor will be holding a press conference in the next hour to update citizens on the plans for safety for all who live in Louisiana. Models indication landfall will probably be along the Louisiana coast.
As you know, New Orleans is below sea level and prone to flooding. With flooding already happening, this could be a major flood event for New Orleans with rain expected through the weekend.
It looks like we will be wet for the next few days or at least until Monday or Tuesday after the storm moves through. How's the weather in your area? Are you along the Gulf Coast?

i saw such'n the news last eve 'n 't saddened me so. one'd think that with this happenin' quite oft the engineers 'd figured a better way 'f dealin' with such. so many lives disrupted 'n property destroyed.
high 'n dry here. they're sayin' there'd be a cold front comin' 'n possibly some'f that moisture from yer neck 'f the woods might filter this direction. will peter out 'fore 't gets out'ta texas most likely.

@crazyhorseladycx This one is moving very slowly so far. They usually slow down when they hit land also so this does not look good right now.

Hopefully, you avoid any flooding--I suspect it doesn't take a lot for you to have a flood situation.

@JohnRoberts Yep, you don't need one if you buy a cheap one. Got to have a durable golf umbrella or another high-end one.

Hot and muggy today. We will probably get the remnants of the tropical depression at some point.
