A Grand Day Out

On Tuesday Adam had to collect a prescription from our village pharmacy so, about half an hour before we decided to go, he suggested we take a little trip out. We ended up at a garden centre a few miles up the road.
Adam's building a new pond as some of you may have read about and he'd bought pond weed and a waterlily but really wanted more plants. The garden centre, apart from selling garden items, also has an aquatic area so we had a look and he decided on six plants. If we bought six we got a discount.
He decided on two taller plants and four smaller plants, the smaller ones we're hoping will spread and provide cover from the sun for the fish. All the plants had different leaf shapes and different shaped and coloured flowers. I chose one of the plants purely for it's edibility! I love watercress but usually buy it already cut from the supermarket but now I should have my own little stock year after year!
Adam's not quite finished the pond so, for the time being, the plants are sitting in a plastic trough and we just have to remember to top it up with water. I have to say that, over the last three days all the plants seem to have perked up and look really healthy.

I find days out that are unplanned always seem to be better than those that are.
