Face Book was started with good intentions

It is really sad how Face Book is used. Even family connects with each other through Face Book and have totally given up any other mode of interaction.
Face Book is a public platform and obviously there is no truth in what is said there most of the time. .
I have stopped going to Face Book

It is still a great site but there are lots of downsides. Shame.

I have not been there in last few months. Though I have an account since years, I have used it only for my work related things. I have my family and friends connection there, but still for personal connections I prefer other modes.

I used to be an avid FB poster . . . but these days I only lurk to see what's going on with everyone else. I admit it was quite enjoyable initially, but these days the atmosphere is not fun anymore. People have become quite divided and nasty (and sad).

@allknowing Yes, people just want to show off their "best" sides there. Well, not everyone . . . there are those who like to expose too much info too (TMI) . . . those kinds of people are all about drama (and I will gladly stay away from that!).

This thought occurred to me pretty late. How can we post something there that is meant for a friend, or a class mate or a relative and everyone on the friends list or if the page is public the whole world can read it

@LadyDuck I am aware of that and groups can be created but how many can one create?And there again it is not a one on one conversation which ofcourse is possible through messaging And that is what I do these days.

@allknowing No, you can set your account so that ONLY your friends can read what you post. I did on a new account I opened just to keep in touch with my cousins.

@allknowing I had one that was in love, not in love several times a day. I unfriended her fast but still talk to her in real life if I see her. That stuff just gets old and the world dont need to know your whole life.

All I use for facebook now is to promote my webcomic and share memes that probably freak out most of my family members. It is good to use to keep update with family and old friends but ehh it isn't as close as it used to be.

@allknowing Because my family doesn't really talk to me or my mother. But they sure do like to stalk my posts and call me a freak to other family members.
