My Dog is Family.

"My dog is not a pet. My dog is family."
To me, there's nothing better than a dog. They love you unconditionally, they forgive your every transgression, they look upon you as the most special person on Earth. A dog is not a pet. It's a member of the family. I don't understand how people can mistreat dogs, any animal for that matter, and how they can keep them tied up outside in the rain and cold and snow. That's just inhumane. Dogs just want to be with their people, their family.
Do you feel that way about dogs? If you have a cat, is it part of your family too?

My dog is not family. It is a friend with fur. Family will stab you in the back. True friends do not.

Oh yes my fur babies are part of our family. We don't believe in leaving animals outside at all, that's heart breaking.

Ace is family to me. I subscribe to the belief we all have two families. There's the family you're born into over which you have no say in who is a part of it. Then there's the family you build for yourself made up of friends - four-legged and two-legged, that you choose to let in. There can be overlap between the two.

I understand you perfectly, they get excited and even cry for our absence, they are like eternal children at home, and to think that sometimes human beings can harm them, they are angels.

I love animals but sadly we do not have any. I do not understand when people say that animals cannot be family, they are just a pet. I do not have pets but my mom and I consider some of my stuffed animals as family. Yeah they are not alive but like they are always there ready to cuddle and give love. Maybe I'm a crazy lady but whatever makes a person happy!

@LindaOHio My daughter and her husband have two dogs, they treat their dogs like we treat ours. When the four of them are at our house, they line up for treats!

You've seen my photos. I live with four feline persons and two canine persons. Each fur person would find a way to get back at me if was mean to them. I can't imagine not living without them- Sonny James big guy feline is balancing a paw on me as I type this.

Dogs are great and so are cats. I had a dog and she was great and special. I had a dog and cat before my present cat and I never ever thought of them as pets but as family. Sophie is my family.
