This plant simply disappears from the garden and then suddenly shows up when I least expect it.
This time I find it robust and healthy with leaves shining It has cropped up at few other places. It seems to belong to the peperomeo family
This applies to ferns as well. They disappear and then appear - they decide I have no say in the matter

I tried to match all species of aphelandra but none have those shiny leaves that this plant has. But you could be right as the flowers emerge from the centre

@allknowing This is what I noticed, when the flowers are in bloom it would be easier to check the name of the plant.

Yes, many plant disappear when seasons are gone and reappear when their times comes. Hope there is an app to detect the plant

If it's in our garden here, it won't need to disappear on it's own, my dogs will make sure their bites would make it disappear.

You better train your dog. Our beloved Preiti only walked on paths and never touched a single plant. I miss her so
