Downsizing was my weekend goal

Hey everyone and Happy Wednesday to you! What’s going on in your world? I took this day off (normally i work Wednesdays) but thought...what the heck. It’s summer and I can find projects to keep me busy, so why not take the day off? I did what I consider “massive downsizing” yesterday - went through most of my clothes. Got rid of some stuff I just don’t wear or like, and it resulted in about 14 shirts/blouses, 3 pairs of dress pants, 5 pairs of jeans, a few random household items. Today I have moved on to my book collection and so far have gotten rid of around 15 books that’s i was keeping, although I am not totally sure why. Then I was able to drop off the men’s and women’s clothes I had stored up for the homeless shelter I frequent, and that was 7 garbage bags worth. I just feel lighter! Something about getting rid of stuff makes me happy, even though shopping also makes me happy. Are you the same way? Do you do a large purge of your items frequently?

to be honest i have a few of these or of those because i know that when you dont use things often, they get damaged or what.

Yay thanks for your positivity! Most of the other stuff not appropriate for homeless is going to Goodwill thrift stores however.

@maezee You're welcome! It's a great thing you did, it's what Jesus would do-that's always something to be proud of. =)

No, I rarely get rid of things - but then I hate shopping and I don't go for impulse buys. Mostly I keep my clothes for years until they fall apart. I guess I'm a retailer's worst nightmare!

Haha you sure are! I buy second hand mostly at thrift stores so I guess I may be another one of their nightmares

Clearing out occasionally is a good thing so you clear room for new stuff!

@maezee Good for you. I am still downsizing when I see something I do not want in my home. My home feels so much lighter when I downsize.

That's my problem, decluttering things to create more space at home.

I am always downsizing. Every time I see things and clothes that I no longer use, I get rid of them by giving them to those who need them.
