I can imagine kids crying in terror with this trailer

I know the musical play are people in cat costumes but I believe the best way to translate this stage play into a movie is to turn it into a 2d or CGI movies with cute cats. But no! they decided to follow the tradition of the broadway musical and have humans in creepy costumes. Taylor Swift and Idris Elba looks like creepy wearcats. CGI animated cats would have look better and cute over these nightmare fuels. This is not a horror movie but its creepier. Kudos to Jennifer Hudson's version of Memory though.

They could have made them look like Pussnboots from Shrek, a photo realistic cute cat but they settled for this nightmare fuel.

Especially the James Corden cat, Idris Elba cat and Judi Dench cat. They could have gone CGI like Netflix Jungle Book.
